This policy describes how HA Nest accesses, uses, stores and shares data. HA Nest is a personal, non-commercial application that connects the owner's self-hosted Home Assistant installation to the Google Nest Smart Device Management (SDM) API. It is used only by its owner.
When the owner signs in with Google and grants permission, HA Nest accesses the following through the Google Nest SDM API (scope https://www.googleapis.com/auth/sdm.service):
HA Nest does not access the owner's email, contacts, files or any other Google account data.
Data is used only to display the owner's Nest device status in Home Assistant and to carry out control commands the owner initiates. It is not used for advertising, profiling, analytics or any other purpose.
Device data and OAuth tokens are stored only on the owner's self-hosted Home Assistant server. HA Nest does not operate any separate server or database that collects this data.
HA Nest does not sell, rent, transfer or share Google user data with any third party. No human other than the owner reads this data.
HA Nest's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Access can be revoked at any time from the Google Account permissions page at myaccount.google.com/permissions, or by removing the Nest integration from Home Assistant. Removing the integration deletes the stored tokens and device data from Home Assistant.
